Prayers for Peace and unity

Hi everyone, there has been some unsettlement in the world for some time and I thought I would offer a simple prayer for peace that we can say. Me, I am unspoken on war and do not involve myself in wars or watch the news much. What I am saying is, I am not here to take sides, but to look for a peaceful solution as a Christian.

At Masters degree I studied war, security, terrorism and ethics for some modules at university and am familiar with the UN Charter on Peace and know about the legitimacy of war on Just war principles. I read the work of scholars like Ian Holliday, Eric Patterson and Michael Walzer. I have essays from these times. There were some Christians too whose specialty was just war theory like theologians like St Augustine and St Thomas Aquinas. This is not about the ethics of war, but about trying to comfort you to see you through these hard times for humanity. I know the pain as well.

As a teen starting my journey I had this dream at 17 when starting working for the ministry which I served for briefly in this role . The dream just blew my mind apart at the time. I dreamt that something dreadful swept over a land. It was like something just razored the ground and people were being separated from loved ones. It was so vivid the dream and I am not certain about the significance of it as I didn't tell the leaders of the church my dreams at that time although they told me I would have them and should write them down.

Moving on from that-Jesus will be returning for the 2nd coming. We do not know when that will be and where we are in that timeline exactly, but we just prepare, for the two in the field and one will be taken. Till he returns we have to try I think carry on as normal and supporting each other in times of war and discontent through prayer to bring about peace and give them comfort and support. Let us unite together on this and read Psalm 46 for peace.

I bid you well
