I will add some scripture about what it says idols in the Bible. Having an idol is not putting God at the centre of our lives as we learn from (Luke 14:26). Christians must guard against idols of the heart. Bondage which is in (Galatians 5:1) is a different thing which pertains more to issues of the health like addictions etc.
You will form your opinions from the scripture for your own life.
(Colossians 3:5)
“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry”
(1 John 5:21)
Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
(Matthew 6:24)
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Matthew 6:24 Greek mammon, a Semitic word for money or possessions.
(Luke 14:26)
“If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.”
This means that we should put Jesus’ mission simply first in our lives.
(Deuteronomy 5: 7-9)
Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.
